So I'm new to this whole blogging thing... I just recently decided to check out Jewishblogging.com and see what's out there as blogs have been popular for some time now and I have not had time to follow the craze. This is my opinion so far, but it may change as I get a chance to see and read more: It seems as if too many ppl have their own blogs whether or not it is worthy of your time to read what they have to say (ofcourse, that includes this blog that you are reading right now) BUT what bothers me more was that it seemed to be a medium for ppl to rant about the wrong doings of other yiddin. One blog vented again a Chassid seen during the nine days listening to non Jewish music on his Ipod. Anther blog blamed the "extreme" right religious communities as being the reason so many children today are at risk...etc. I honestly don't want to waste my time reading lashon hara (true or otherwise) online. That makes it no more kosher than verbal lashon hara and really not something that interests me. I was happy to see how many ppl commented on those above mentioned blogs bashing the writer for being closeminded, not judging other favorably and in short wrong, picking on others misgivings when the have so much to fix themselves about themselves, BUT that did not rinse away the distaste I felt at reading these blogs to begin with. SO what I intend to do, if I do manage to be serious about writing a blog of my own even somewhat consistently would be to avoid such unpleasant topics which may boil the blood or be just plain negative, because I feel inorder for something to catch my attention or warrent my returning visits it should be entertaining, maybe even funny and make my day a little better or easier. Otherwise, its all just a waste of time. Wish me luck.
