One of our Chol HaMoed trips this year was White Post farms in Melville, Long Island. .

The farm is basically divided into 3 areas. First there is the indoor portion which has the hothouses where all varieties of produce and plants (and merchandise) are available for purchase. There is also a garden center where you can by supplies for your landscaping and gardening needs.

Next is the petting zoo. You can buy milk bottles and feed (chometz) for the animals. The kids seemed more excited to see the animals than to feed them at first but eventually they warmed up. The adults certainly had fun feeding the animals.

Finally, there is a huge playground area where the kids can just roam around and pretend. Little houses and play tractors beckon the little ones and their imagination, giving parents an opportunity to relax and socialize with the other Yom Tov refugees who have made the pilgrimage from Queens, Brooklyn and the 5 towns. I think this was everyone's favorite part. There are pony rides available as well.

All in all, the beautiful weather combined with a great venue produced a fun filled day for everyone.
